Adult Education
Adults meet for
study on Sunday mornings from September thru June at 10:15 am. The class
is taught in a relaxed, interactive style. Leaders are committed to
presenting programs that are 1) concrete, 2) action oriented, 3) Christian
and 4) faithful to the theology of the Episcopal Church. The learning
environment is respectful and honors the contribution of each participant.
Leaders include clergy and other teachers from the congregation as well
as guest presenters. In the past, some of our guests have been Dr. Marva Dawn,
noted author and lecturer; Dr. Donn Morgan, President and Dean of Church
Divinity School of the Pacific; Br. Dale Simison, Field Representative
of the Episcopal Church Foundation; Ernie Veach-White, Director of the
Clark County Juvenile Justice Department; and Dr. Robert Ellis, Director
of the Cancer Center at Southwest Washington Medical Center.
A wide variety of subjects is considered during the year. The focus
is on awakening and deepening the faith of participants and helping
them apply their faith to everyday situations. This class is part of
a comprehensive program of adult education at Good Shepherd. |
