| Twenty-eight percent of the Church of the Good Shepherd congregation is 18 years old or younger. The congregation is deeply committed to supporting its children and their families. Children, youth, and adults meet for Sunday School at 10:15-11:00 a.m. September through June. |
Sunday School for Children ages 3 through the 6th grade. The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is the name of Good Shepherd’s religious education curriculum. Its focus is on a child’s individual spiritual growth. This “hands on” curriculum is rich in Scripture, church history, and liturgy. Children in the 6th grade may opt to attend Junior Sunday School for children in grades 6-8.

Children’s Chapel is offered during the first half of the 9:00 a.m. and 11:05 a.m. services. Two age groups are available: preschool-kindergarten and first-sixth grade. Children join their parents in church in time for Holy Communion. The chapel service offers children an opportunity to study the Scripture lessons appointed for the day at their own level of interest. Reflection on the Sunday scriptures may include shared dialogue, crafts, or music opportunities. |
Sunday School for Teens
7th—12th Graders join adults in the parish hall September thru June at 10:15 am. A wide variety of subjects is considered during the year. The focus is on awakening and deepening the faith of participants and helping them apply their faith to everyday situations.designed around the interests of the group. |
