We will be distributing PIGGY BANKS again at our annual Welcome Back Sunday celebration, September 7. Funds collected from the piggy banks will go toward Good Shepherd’s purchase of one entire Animal Farm (cow, goat, ox and plow!) for an impoverished family through Episcopal Relief & Development. Please remember to take a piggy home with you September 7th, and bring it back on October 5th(St. Francis Sunday) for collection. For more information, check out Episcopal Relief & Development online at: http://www.er-d.org/GiftsForLife/1/
We gather to share our gifts , love, and talents of quilting. It is a time of fellowship and a time when we not only work on personal projects but share in making the Prayer Quilts(Prayers and Squares). Payers and Squares is an interfaith ministry which combines the gift of a hand made quilt with the gift of prayer for someone who is seriously ill of facing a serious, life-threatening surgery. This ministry meets monthly on the second Monday morning of the month at which time the quilters work on the prayer quilts, either stitching them of sandwiching them with threads that members of the congregation tie with a prayer. Quilters gather on the other Mondays of the month to work on their own projects.
The Handbell Choir strives to enhance the beauty of the worship service through its unique type of music. For over a century, English handbells have inspired worshippers with their gentle but soul-touching sounds. This multi-generational ministry incorporates bell ringers ages 12 and older
ShepherdSong is a group of singers and instrumentalists that provides musical leadership of a more contemporary nature for the 11:15am worship service. The group leads the congregation in praise songs, service music, and presents an offertory selection every Sunday. The group rehearses on Monday nights from 6:45-9:15 and on Sunday mornings at 10:00. Because of the ensemble nature of the group, persons interested in participating are asked to audition.
